Green Chile Chorizo Cornbread Waffles

8 oz. chorizo, cooked and drained
1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
3 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Hatch Chile Verde

Place all ingredients into a large bowl and whisk until everything is combined.
Heat the waffle maker and coat with non-stick spray.
Spoon batter into the maker and cook on medium-high, according to manufacturer directions.
