  • Lemon Lavender Morning Buns

    Ingredients:
    1 cup sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. lemon zest
    3/4 tsp. Frolicking Deer Culinary Lavender
    pinch of salt
    2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
    2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and cooled

    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease 2 12 cup standard muffin pans
    Combine sugar, lemon zest, lavender and salt in a food processor and blend 1 minute
    Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar mixture onto a large board
    Unfold 1 sheet of the puff pastry onto the board and press into the sugar with a rolling pin
    Brush pastry with melted butter and sprinkle with 1/3 cup sugar mixture
    Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 8 equal slices
    Place slices spiral side up in the prepared muffin pans.
    Chill in the freezer 10 minutes and repeat process with the second sheet
    Bake 25 minutes, until golden, transfer to cooling racks and let cool 20 minutes before serving
