What is Pinon you may ask? We get that question all the time. The pinon nut is from the Pinon Pine tree which is the New Mexico State Tree. It grows generally in the Southwestern US at elevations from about 5000 feet up to roughly 7000 feet. The pinon nuts it produces in the fall are an epicurean delight. Locals take to the woods in droves to fill their buckets full of nuts to use throughout the year.

The New Mexico Pinon Coffee Company began roasting coffee over 20 years ago in Albuquerque in the back of a pickup truck. Now from those very humble beginnings with over 1 million pounds of coffee roasted each year, they are the largest coffee roaster in New Mexico. The beans are hand-roasted to protect the excellent quality, flavor, and aroma we have come to know and enjoy. The hand-roasting also makes the coffee very consistent. All of the flavors are Gluten free and do not contain potential allergens. There is no added sugar, sucralose, artificial sweeteners, or sulfites.

The New Mexico Pinon Coffee Company is the official coffee sponsor of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the world’s largest hot air ballooning event, held annually every October in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For nine days during the first full week of October hundreds of colorful balloons float above the city each morning at the Ballon Fiesta Park. Being the official coffee sponsor means being well up before the sunrise each day throughout the week, preparing and brewing coffee for the spectators, pilots, business booths, and staff and crew.

The staff at NM Pinon Coffee company considers themselves a lovable, goofy, skilled production team. The men and women are the well-oiled machine and you know that your coffee has been cared for in the right hands until it reaches your home. Here in New Mexico it is well known that "Great Coffee Is A Matter Of A Pinon"!
